Old Forester Batch Proof 150th Batch 3 is another limited release from the distillery's anniversary series, reported by merchants at 126.8 proof. It is built for bourbon buyers who enjoy concentration, warmth and the classic sweet-oak profile of Old Forester.
From the Producer
Old Forester was first bottled and sold by George Garvin Brown in 1870 and was the first bourbon sold exclusively in sealed bottles, a step taken to guard against adulteration in an era when whiskey was often sold from the barrel. It has been on the market continuously since, produced by the Brown-Forman family under a mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley, the same recipe used for Woodford Reserve. The Batch Proof series is a barrel-strength, non-chill-filtered release drawn from selected barrels without dilution, giving each batch its own proof point.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Brown sugar, vanilla, toasted oak and baking spice
