Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt 21 Year is a highly regarded Japanese blended malt that combines Yoichi's structure with Miyagikyo's elegance. This bottle remains a benchmark mature Nikka release for collectors and drinkers who want age without excessive heaviness.
From the Producer
Nikka Whisky was founded in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru, who trained in Scotland before building Japan's Yoichi distillery and, later, the Miyagikyo distillery in 1969. The Taketsuru range is a vatted (blended) malt combining single malts from both sites rather than a single-distillery whisky. The 21 Year Old sits above the 17 Year Old as one of the range's older age-statement releases and has won repeated industry awards for its depth and balance.
