Mortlach 16 Year is the sherry-cask expression inspired by Mortlach’s first 16-year-old release from 1992, carrying the distillery’s dense, weighty Speyside character with rich fruit and savoury complexity.

From the Producer

Mortlach was the first licensed distillery in Dufftown, established in 1823, and its stillhouse is the strangest in Speyside: six stills of mismatched sizes run through a partial triple distillation the distillery calls 2.81 times, with the small 'Wee Witchie' still and outdoor worm tubs building the heavy, meaty weight the malt is known for. For most of its life that spirit went almost entirely into blends - Johnnie Walker above all - and a full single malt range only appeared in 2014. The 16 Year is the sherry-matured expression of that line-up, taking its cue from the distillery's first 16-year-old bottling.
