Mortlach 13 Year Special Release 2021 700mL is a, 13 Year aged spirit, presented at 700ml. It is offered as a bottling for enthusiasts and collectors who follow the producer's release programme.
From the Producer
Mortlach was founded in 1823 and was the first licensed distillery in Dufftown, Speyside. It was rebuilt by Alexander Cowie in 1897, and the distillation regime he laid down is still followed: six stills of differing sizes worked in an uneven partial triple distillation that the owners describe as 2.81 times, with the smallest still known as the Wee Witchie, and worm tub condensers instead of modern shell-and-tube units. The result is a heavier, meatier Speyside style that has long been a component of blends including Johnnie Walker. The distillery is owned by Diageo, whose annual Special Releases collection issues limited cask-strength bottlings from across its distilleries; this Mortlach carries a 13-year age statement and the 2021 release reference.
Best For
Best suited to enthusiasts of 13 Year aged spirits, gifting on milestone occasions, and after-dinner service. Neat or with a drop of water is the recommended tasting approach.
Tasting Profile
