The Mascot 2016 is a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon-led red produced from the young vines of Harlan Estate, BOND and Promontory, built for buyers who want polished Napa structure and estate-linked pedigree in a more approachable format than the flagship labels.
From the Producer
The Mascot is a project of the Harlan family, founded by Bill Harlan, who also established Harlan Estate (1984), BOND and Promontory in Napa Valley's Oakville AVA. The wine is sourced from the young vines within these estate vineyards, offering the family's Napa winegrowing style at a lower price point than the flagship bottlings.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Blackcurrant, dark cherry, cedar, graphite, cocoa and oak spice.
- Palate: Full-bodied and structured, with cassis, plum, savoury depth and polished tannin.
- Finish: Long and composed, with lingering dark fruit, cedar, cocoa and mineral grip.
Best For
Napa Cabernet collectors, steakhouse dinners, premium gifting and drinkers who want a serious California red without moving into the top Harlan-tier bottlings.
