This comes from the restarted era at Mars Shinshu in Nagano, where Hombo Shuzo resumed distillation in 2011 after a nineteen-year pause. Festival editions are bottled for a specific event and are usually a single cask chosen to show something the core range does not, in this case a heavily peated spirit matured in a heavily toasted virgin American white oak hogshead.
