Mars Blackadder 2013 Cask #1647 is a young but high-strength Japanese single malt from Mars Shinshu, bottled by Blackadder as a single cask. The small outturn and cask-specific identity make it much more of a collector bottle than an everyday pour.
From the Producer
Mars Shinshu is owned by Hombo Shuzo, a shōchū producer based in Kagoshima. The distillery was founded in 1985 in Miyada, Nagano Prefecture, at roughly 800 metres above sea level, making it Japan's highest-altitude whisky distillery. It was mothballed from 1992 to 2011 before resuming production. Blackadder is an independent Scottish bottler that selects and releases single-cask whiskies under its own label rather than the distillery's house bottling.
