Maison Leroy Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières 2003 750mL is a rare mature white Burgundy from one of Meursault's most admired Premier Cru sites, bottled at 750mL.
From the Producer
Maison Leroy is the Burgundian négociant house founded in Auxey-Duresses in 1865 by François Leroy, and the sister house to Domaine Leroy, the estate created and led by Lalou Bize-Leroy from the late 1980s. Both arms of the family draw on a strict biodynamic approach in the vineyard and a low-yield, barrel-by-barrel selection in the cellar that has made the Leroy name a reference for fine Burgundy across village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru levels. Les Perrières is widely regarded as the top Meursault Premier Cru climat, a thin-soiled limestone site on the Puligny side of the village whose Chardonnay wines are noted for depth, minerality and long ageing.
Appearance — Deep gold with amber hints.
Nose — Lemon curd, ripe apple, hazelnut, buttered toast, stone and mature honeyed notes.
Palate — Rich and textured, with ripe Chardonnay fruit, nutty complexity and mineral backbone.
Finish — Long, savoury and mineral, with mature white Burgundy depth.
Best For
Mature white Burgundy collectors, fine seafood, poultry in cream sauce and special-cellar drinking.
