A village Chambolle-Musigny selected and bottled by Maison Leroy from the 2014 vintage. Chambolle is the Côte de Nuits village most associated with perfume and a silky texture, and a Leroy selection gives it careful provenance and extra time in the family cellars.
About This Wine
Chambolle-Musigny lies between Morey-Saint-Denis and Vougeot and is a red-only village appellation, created in 1936, with Musigny and Bonnes-Mares as its two grands crus. The wines are usually lighter in frame than Gevrey or Pommard, with violet and small red fruit when young and truffle and undergrowth with age. The house does not name the parcels behind its village wines.

About the Maison
Much of the Leroy name's weight in Burgundy goes back to Henri Leroy. He joined the family négociant firm in 1919 and, in 1942, at a difficult moment for the region, bought a half share of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti from the Chambon family. He then spent decades helping to rebuild that estate, while the family business in Auxey-Duresses carried on beside it.
Selling DRC's wines for many years also helped the family build a deep stock of older bottles of its own. Today his daughter, Lalou Bize-Leroy, still owns a quarter of the Romanée-Conti estate.
