Maison Leroy was founded in 1868 by François Leroy as a Burgundy negociant business based in Auxey-Duresses, close to Meursault. The house passed to son Joseph and grandson Henri from 1919, before Lalou Bize-Leroy became managing director in 1971 and grew the business's own domaine holdings; the Leroy family also holds a long-standing stake in Domaine de la Romanée-Conti.
