The Macallan describes Rare Cask Black as "a story of rarity": select casks from the distillery's warehouses at Craigellachie, Speyside — home to The Macallan since 1824, and part of Edrington since 1999 — that stand out for their intense, sweet raisin character and rich, velvety mouthfeel. The whisky's peat-smoke note comes from exceptionally rare aged stocks of peated distillation blended into the sherry-cask maturation, giving a smokier identity than Macallan's core range.
