Henri Jayer (1926–2006) is widely regarded as one of the most influential red Burgundy producers of the 20th century, known for his work at Domaine Henri Jayer in Vosne-Romanée and his long-standing role at the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. The Cros Parantoux vineyard sits on a stony, steeply-sloped site above the village of Vosne-Romanée that Jayer himself helped to clear and replant in the post-war years. 1993 is a smaller-production vintage from the domaine in an otherwise irregular decade, and Cros Parantoux bottlings from this period are among the most collectable Pinot Noirs from modern Burgundy.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Ripe Pinot Noir aromatics of red cherry, plum, spice, forest floor and a faint, smoky oak note.
