Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix 750mL is a one-off limited release from Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown, Speyside, created from ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks after heavy snow damaged the distillery’s warehouses in the severe 2010 Scottish winter. It remains a cult bottle for collectors who want a story-rich Glenfiddich release with real scarcity.

Glenfiddich was founded in 1887 by William Grant in Dufftown, in the heart of Speyside, and remains part of the independent family-owned William Grant & Sons group. The distillery’s warehouses sit adjacent to the stillhouse on the Dufftown site and have been progressively expanded through Glenfiddich’s growth into one of the world’s best-selling single malts. The 2010 Scottish winter brought unusually heavy snow that caused part of a warehouse roof to collapse, putting a number of casks out of their normal storage position; the distillery decided to bottle the salvaged whisky as a single limited release rather than re-blend it, naming the expression Snow Phoenix as a tribute to the recovery. The casks selected were a mix of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks of varying ages, married for the final bottling.
