Glenfiddich was founded in 1887 by William Grant in Dufftown, in the heart of Speyside, and remained in the hands of the Grant family through William Grant & Sons, one of the largest remaining independent family-owned Scotch whisky companies. The distillery is known for its tall stills and its pioneering role in developing the modern single malt category globally from the 1960s onward. The 15 Year expression is built around Glenfiddich’s signature Solera process, in which maturing whisky from bourbon and sherry casks is married in a large Solera vat before bottling. The Distillery Edition is a higher-strength presentation of this 15 Year expression at 102 proof.
