About This Bourbon
Four Roses released this 2012 Limited Edition Single Barrel at barrel strength under Jim Rutledge. It is a 12 year old bourbon, bottled one barrel at a time.
The OESK recipe pairs the E mash bill (75% corn, 20% rye, 5% malted barley) with the spicy K yeast.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice over barrel char and ripe peach.
- Palate: Firm and rich.
- Finish: Sweet at first, then drying neatly to cinnamon and oak.
Serving & Food
Serve it neat and let the spice settle; five-spice roast duck suits it.
