Dom Pérignon P2 2002 is the second Plénitude (P2) release of the 2002 vintage, re-disgorged after extended lees ageing for greater depth, energy and salinity than the standard vintage release.
From the Producer
The 2002 vintage ranks among Dom Pérignon’s most admired recent declarations — a warm, balanced year that produced wines of structure and length across the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims. For P2 (Plénitude Deuxième), the same 2002 base wine was returned to the cellar for around fifteen years of additional lees ageing before the later disgorgement. The result is the same 2002 vintage in a more autolytic, more saline register, marked as P2 on the back label.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Lemon peel, ripe stone fruit, brioche, almond, light smoke and chalk.
- Palate: Broad and vibrant, with baked apple, pastry richness, citrus tension and saline minerality carried by a fine mousse.
- Finish: Long and energetic, with citrus, toast and mineral drive.
Best For
Vintage Champagne collectors, celebratory gifting and refined dining where a later-release Dom Pérignon is preferred to the standard vintage bottling.
