About This Champagne
Dom Pérignon Vintage 2018, 750mL, is the first vintage Vincent Chaperon signed from start to finish as cellar master. It comes from a sunny summer hotter than 2003.
Picking began around 20 August, only the house's fifth August harvest, with record ripeness. After about eight years on its lees, it's broader and rounder than 2017.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Juicy orchard fruit, yellow kiwi and mango, with a fresh herbal edge.
- Palate: Broad and dense, rich in texture but kept lively by real tension.
- Finish: Long, with a clear saline note.
Serving & Food
Serve at 8–10°C in a tulip glass, not a flute. Keep food simple: steamed lobster, scallops or roast chicken.
Good to Know
Is 2018 a good Dom Pérignon vintage? Yes. A warm, even year gave both grapes record ripeness.
Drink now or cellar it? Lovely now, and it should improve for ten years or more.
