The Dalmore 45 Year is a 45-year-old Highland single malt from Dalmore, one of the distillery’s most prestigious age-statement releases. It is built around long maturation in American white oak ex-bourbon, finished in hand-selected oloroso sherry casks, then a final period in Cabernet Sauvignon and Port pipes, with each batch presented in an individually numbered decanter.
From the Producer
Dalmore, founded in 1839 in Alness on the Cromarty Firth, builds its high-aged prestige range on a multi-cask programme: American white oak ex-bourbon for the long primary maturation, oloroso sherry casks from González Byass for the sherry spine, and finishing touches in Cabernet Sauvignon barriques and aged Port pipes. The 45 is bottled at 40% ABV in a hand-finished decanter (thedalmore.com).
