About This Whisky
Distilled on 22 March 1973 and bottled in 2003 at 30 years old, this Dalmore was finished in Matusalem oloroso casks from González Byass.
The 1973 vintage spent most of its three decades in American oak before being finished in González Byass casks that had held Matusalem oloroso.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Orange peel, raisin, polished oak, coffee and a hint of old leather.
- Palate: Rich and rounded, with dried fruit, toffee, cocoa and nutty oloroso.
- Finish: Long and elegant, with dark fruit, spice and soft oak tannin.
Serving & Food
Pour small measures into a nosing glass and let it breathe. Dark chocolate truffles, roasted chestnuts, or nothing at all after dinner.
