About This Whisky
The 20 Year Old begins in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, which lay down vanilla and honey. The whisky is then fully transferred into González Byass casks that previously held 30-year-old Matusalem oloroso sherry, adding dried fruit, marmalade and spice. Recent releases have been bottled at 43.6% ABV.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Rich orange, ginger cake and ripe orchard fruit
- Palate: Marzipan, morello cherry, fig, old oloroso and Seville marmalade
- Finish: Toffee apple, cinnamon, dark chocolate and a touch of liquorice

About the Distillery
The Dalmore stands on the north shore of the Cromarty Firth at Alness in the northern Highlands. It was founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson and passed to the Mackenzie family, whose clan stag emblem still appears on every bottle. Whyte & Mackay took over in 1960 and remains the owner.
The house style is built on a two-stage approach: spirit is first matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks and then moved into sherry casks, many of them from González Byass in Jerez, including butts that held the bodega's 30-year-old Matusalem oloroso. Richard Paterson, Master Blender since the 1970s, has shaped the range for decades.
