From the Producer
Chichibu distillery sits in Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture, and was founded by Ichiro Akuto, the grandson of the master distiller of the now-closed Hanyu distillery. Distilling began in 2008 on a small scale with on-site floor maltings and a wide variety of cask types, including ex-bourbon barrels. The annual city-edition series produces limited bottles aimed at specific export markets; the London Edition is the UK allocation and the 2020 release matured in ex-bourbon casks.
