Chichibu London Edition 2019 is a single-cask Japanese single malt from the Chichibu distillery in Saitama, released as part of the London Edition series for the UK market. It is bottled at 48.5% ABV in 700ml format and is part of a numbered annual city-edition programme run by the distillery.
From the Producer
Chichibu distillery sits in the mountain town of Chichibu in Saitama Prefecture, around 70 km north-west of central Tokyo. It was founded by Ichiro Akuto, whose family previously ran the now-closed Hanyu distillery, and distilling began in 2008. The site operates on a small scale with on-site floor maltings, mashing, fermentation and distillation, and a wide mix of cask types. The city-edition series produces an annual bottling for a specific city, with the London Edition released in partnership with UK whisky specialists.
