About This Bourbon
Stagg Batch 24A opened Buffalo Trace's 2024 run of its barrel-proof bourbon. Batch 24A was bottled uncut and unfiltered at 127.6 proof (63.8% ABV), a little lower than many earlier batches.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Ripe cherry and raspberry, cigar box and old leather, with cocoa and a wisp of barrel smoke.
- Palate: Full and dense: plum and dark fruit, burnt caramel, cinnamon and a firm, tannic oak grip.
- Finish: Warming and long, with espresso, pepper and a lingering dark-fruit sweetness.
Serving & Food
Good partners are roast duck, beef rendang or a cherry and dark chocolate tart.

How strong is it? 127.6 proof, toward the gentler end of the series.
How old is it? There's no age statement, though retailers put the barrels at eight years or more.
