Balvenie DCS 13 Year 2004 Chapter 3 700mL is a 13-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from The Balvenie Distillery in Dufftown, Speyside, released as Chapter 3 of the David C. Stewart Compendium and distilled in 2004.
From the Producer
The Balvenie was founded in 1892 by William Grant and remains part of the William Grant & Sons family of distilleries, located in Dufftown in Speyside. The distillery still operates its own working floor maltings, an in-house coppersmith and a dedicated on-site cooperage, making it one of the few Scotch distilleries that maintains these crafts on a single site. The DCS Compendium series records selected Balvenie single-cask whiskies through chapters associated with long-serving malt master David C. Stewart MBE; this bottling is identified as Chapter 3, distilled in 2004 and bottled at 13 years of age.
Tasting Notes
Nose — Honeyed malt, orchard fruit, vanilla and soft oak.
Taste — Sweet grain, toffee, spice and cask-driven depth.
Finish — Long and warming, with oak and malt sweetness.
