Château Ausone 2005 in 6L OWC is a rare large-format Saint-Émilion First Growth from one of Bordeaux’s most celebrated vintages. The imperial format makes it a dramatic collector and celebration bottle
From the Producer
Château Ausone is a Right Bank estate in Saint-Émilion rated Premier Grand Cru Classé A, with vineyards on the limestone plateau behind the village and a long history dating to Roman times. The estate’s wine is a Merlot-dominant blend with a significant share of Cabernet Franc, and production is among the smallest of the classified growths. The 2005 vintage is widely regarded as one of the great modern Bordeaux vintages, producing deeply coloured, structured, ageworthy wines across the top estates. The 6-litre Imperial format, presented here in its Original Wooden Case, is reserved for the most serious cellars and celebrations.

- Nose: Black cherry, plum, violet, limestone, cedar and fine spice.
