Au Sommet 2010 in 18L is an extremely rare large-format Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from the Atlas Peak area.
From the Producer
Au Sommet is a boutique Napa Valley Cabernet project sourcing fruit from the volcanic, high-elevation Atlas Peak AVA on the eastern side of the valley, where thin rocky soils and cooler mountain nights give intensely concentrated, structured Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2010 vintage in Napa was cool and classically balanced, producing ageworthy Cabernet with dark fruit, firm tannins and bright mountain acidity rather than overripe jammy character. The 18-litre format (Salmanazar) is reserved for serious events and cellars and is rarely produced for small-lot Napa Cabernet releases.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Blackcurrant, espresso, mint, licorice, graphite and dark mountain fruit.
