Promontory is a Napa Valley estate in the eastern foothills of Oakville, established in 2008 by the Harlan family of Harlan Estate and run by Will Harlan since 2015, with David Cilli as winemaker. The 840-acre property sits on steep, fault-line terrain combining volcanic, sedimentary and metamorphic soils, and the cabernet sauvignon-led wine is typically aged 30-36 months in Austrian oak before release roughly five and a half years after harvest, a slow-release approach that underpins this 2016 vintage's structure.
