Prinz zu Salm Dalbergsches Schloss Wallhausen Wallhauser Pfarrgarten Grauer Burgunder #21 1989 is a rare mature German bottling with limited online documentation. Its value is primarily in age, rarity and the unusual style-reference rather than broad commercial familiarity

From the Producer

The estate takes its name from Schloss Wallhausen, the historic Dalberg family castle in Wallhausen in the Nahe wine region of Germany, today held by the Prince of Salm-Salm family. Wallhausen is one of the more active wine villages of the Nahe, and this Pfarrgarten vineyard bottling is a Grauer Burgunder (Pinot Gris) from the 1989 vintage, made in the estate's traditionally labelled style.

Tasting Profile

  • Nose: Honey, candied citrus, dried orchard fruit and gentle spice
  • Palate: Sweet and mellow, with mature fruit concentration and softened acidity
  • Finish: Long, rounded and honeyed, with lingering dried-fruit notes

Best For

Suitable for collectors of unusual older German whites and small-pour dessert service
