About This Whiskey
Made from a mash of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, Bulleit 95 Rye is a straight American rye bottled at 45% ABV.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Russet in the glass, with rye bread, dill, fresh mint and clove over light oak.
- Palate: Lean and peppery, with honey and vanilla softening the spice, then orange peel and a herbal, slightly grassy note.
- Finish: Crisp and fairly long, finishing dry with pepper, cinnamon and oak.
Serving & Food
Mostly a mixing rye: stir it into a Manhattan, a Sazerac or a Boulevardier, or top it with ginger ale over ice. Food-wise, try it with pastrami, smoked salmon on rye or spiced lamb skewers.
Good to Know
Is it good in cocktails? It's a bartender's staple for a Manhattan or Sazerac.
How does it differ from Bulleit Bourbon? The 95% rye recipe makes it drier, spicier and more herbal.
