Jack Daniel's has distilled at Lynchburg, Tennessee since the 1860s and is owned by Brown-Forman. Every drop of its whiskey is filtered through ten feet of sugar-maple charcoal before it goes into the barrel — the Lincoln County Process that separates Tennessee whiskey from bourbon. Single Barrel Select is drawn from barrels selected individually, generally from the upper reaches of the barrelhouse where the temperature swings are widest and maturation runs hardest.
