Jack Daniel's has distilled at Lynchburg, Tennessee since the 1860s and is owned by Brown-Forman. Old No. 7 is charcoal mellowed drop by drop through ten feet of sugar-maple charcoal before it goes into handcrafted barrels — the Lincoln County Process, which is what legally separates Tennessee whiskey from bourbon.
