Salon Le Mesnil 2004 Magnum is a rare Blanc de Blancs Champagne from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, presented here in 1.5L OWC format. Salon is produced only in selected vintages, making the 2004 a serious collector bottle.

From the Producer

Salon makes one wine: Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, from a single vintage, with no reserve wine and no dosage compromise. Eugene-Aime Salon set the house up in the 1920s and the rule has never changed - if the year is not good enough, nothing is declared, which is why fewer than forty vintages exist across a century. The 2004 spent well over a decade on lees in the chalk cellars before release, and magnums are a small fraction of an already tiny production.

• Nose: Lemon zest, chalk, white flowers, brioche, almond and mineral freshness.
• Palate: Precise and energetic, with citrus, fine mousse, saline minerality and crystalline Chardonnay depth.
• Finish: Very long and focused, with chalk, citrus and delicate toast.
