An older bottling of Old Weller Antique labelled Original 107 Brand, a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon at 107 proof (53.5% ABV). It comes from the years before the brand's current round bottle and printed label.
About This Bourbon
Old Weller Antique used a paper label and a 7-year age statement for many years, across both the Louisville and the Frankfort eras. In the early 2010s the age statement was dropped and the bottle was redesigned with the label printed on the glass, so bottles like this one are now collected as a separate style. The Original 107 Brand wording appears on more than one label era, including Frankfort bottlings.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Caramel, vanilla and sweet oak, with a floral lift and gentle baking spice.
- Palate: Rich and rounded, with brown sugar, toffee, cinnamon and a soft wheat texture.
- Finish: Warm and drawn out, carrying oak spice, caramel and a lingering sweetness.
Serving & Food
Pour a measure neat, then add a splash of water or one large ice cube, which suits the strength. It also makes a rich Old Fashioned. Serve with glazed short ribs, bread pudding or salted caramel.
How to Enjoy
Weller drinkers curious about older labels, and a considered gift for a bourbon fan who likes full strength.

About the Distillery
Weller has been made at the Sazerac Company's Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, on the Kentucky River, since the end of the 1990s. Every Weller expression shares the same wheated mash, with wheat in place of rye as the secondary grain, and the range runs from Special Reserve and Antique 107 up to the 12 Year and the barrel-proof William Larue Weller. Antique 107 has long been the high-strength everyday bottling of that family.
