Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2009 Release is an early and highly sought-after Suntory Japanese single malt bottling. Its sherry-cask identity gives it strong collector demand and a rich flavour profile.
From the Producer
The 2009 sherry cask is from the early part of the Yamazaki cask series, before Japanese whisky prices moved and before Suntory's stock of aged sherry-matured malt tightened. European oak seasoned with sherry is what produces the raisin, cocoa and orange-peel side of Yamazaki, and the early editions were bottled when that wood was still comparatively easy to fill.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Raisin, dark cherry, chocolate, orange peel and warm oak spice.
