About This Whisky
A limited Yamazaki single malt released in 2023 for the centenary of Suntory whisky. Every malt in it was aged at least 18 years, solely in mizunara casks, and it is bottled at 48%.
Mizunara gives sandalwood, coconut and incense aromas with age, and this edition puts that wood on its own.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Dark cherry and ripe peach, with cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Palate: Subtly spiced orangette with undertones of Japanese incense.
- Finish: Long and lingering, with clove, sandalwood and dried coconut.

Sip it neat from a narrow glass, then add a drop of water.

Why mizunara? It is the Japanese oak most closely tied to Yamazaki's style.

About the Distillery
Shinjiro Torii built Yamazaki in 1923, and Suntory, the company he founded in 1899, still owns it. Shinji Fukuyo, Suntory's fifth chief blender, shapes releases like this one.
