Woodford Reserve is distilled at the Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles, Kentucky, a National Historic Landmark site where bourbon-making dates back to 1812, and is owned by Brown-Forman. The flagship bourbon is made from a grain recipe of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley, using limestone-filtered water from the distillery property, an extended fermentation and a mix of pot-still and column-still distillation before maturing in new, charred oak barrels made at Woodford's own cooperage. Per the producer, it is bottled at 90.4 proof (45.2% ABV).

Tasting Profile

Per the producer: the nose is heavy with rich dried fruit, hints of mint and orange, faint vanilla, tobacco spice and a dusting of cocoa. The palate is rich, chewy and rounded with complex citrus, cinnamon, cocoa, toffee, caramel and chocolate, finishing silky smooth with a long, warm tail.
