William Larue Weller takes its name from the Louisville merchant credited with putting wheat into the bourbon mash in place of rye — the choice that defines the whole wheated style Buffalo Trace still works in today. A nineteen-year age statement is far beyond what current Weller bottlings carry. Long-aged wheated bourbon from this era exists in very small numbers, because little was laid down and a great deal of it was lost to the barrel before anyone came back for it.

• Nose: Candied fruit, caramel, vanilla, oak, spice and mature leather notes.
• Palate: Soft and rich, with wheated bourbon sweetness, dark sugar, oak, dried fruit and baking spice.
