This is Austin Nichols-era Wild Turkey, from the years when the company still put twelve-year stock in a bottle at 101 proof as a matter of routine and Jimmy Russell — at Lawrenceburg since 1954 — signed off on it. Wild Turkey stopped doing that. The dusty 12-year bottlings are now collected for exactly that reason: they are what the distillery's own mature whiskey tasted like before any of it was allocated.
