About This Bourbon
W.L. Weller Full Proof is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 114 proof, the same strength at which Buffalo Trace fills its wheated bourbon into barrels.
There is no age statement, and it is bottled without chill filtration, which keeps more oil and texture.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Vanilla, dark cherries and caramel.
- Palate: A balance of caramel and toasted oak, with a broad, rich texture.
- Finish: Long, with notes of crème brûlée and chocolate.
Serving & Food
Taste it neat first. It stands up to barbecue short ribs or a dark chocolate tart.
Good to Know
Why is it cloudy when cold? Natural oils remain; the haze is harmless.
Should I add water? A splash brings out more cherry. Ice can cloud it.
