W.L. Weller is the wheated bourbon line produced at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. The line was created in the 19th century by William Larue Weller, who replaced rye with wheat in the mashbill to make a softer, sweeter bourbon. Today, Buffalo Trace produces several Weller expressions — Special Reserve, Antique, Full Proof and the ultra-rare 12 Year — all built on the same wheated mashbill. Full Proof is bottled at 114 proof / 57% ABV without chill-filtration to preserve the full flavour and texture of the barrel-proof spirit.
