About This Bourbon
Very Olde St. Nick 17 Year at 94 proof is an older-style bottling from the years when St. Nick was made largely for Japan.
The Japanese range ran from an 8 year Estate Reserve to 25 years, with a barrel-strength 17 beside this one.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Caramel, vanilla, dried cherry and oak, with a little leather.
- Palate: Mellow, with toffee, brown sugar and light baking spice.
- Finish: Medium-long, soft oak and caramel with gentle spice.
Serving & Food
Serve it neat at room temperature, with slow-roasted pork or crème caramel.

Who bottled it? Early bottles by Julian Van Winkle III, later by Kentucky Bourbon Distillers.
Is it hot? No. At 94 proof it drinks softly for its age.

About the Distillery
Marci Palatella created Very Olde St. Nick in the mid-1980s as an export label for Japan, and her company InterBev still owns it. The brand is now based at her Preservation Distillery outside Bardstown, Kentucky.
