Three Rivers Shiraz 1996 is an early Chris Ringland wine from his Barossa Ranges vineyard. The name predates the later Chris Ringland Shiraz label.
About This Wine
Ringland recounts that his Shiraz project began with purchased fruit before he worked with vines at Stone Chimney Creek. He bottled his whole selected 1996 barrel lot as Three Rivers. The exact alcohol and tasting profile of this individual bottle are not confirmed here.
Tasting Profile
No vintage-specific sensory note was verified; the wine is an aged Barossa Shiraz and its present condition will vary by bottle.
Serving & Food
Stand upright to let any deposit settle, then open gently and taste before decanting. Roast venison makes a suitable companion if the wine retains its concentration.
How to Enjoy
A bottle to open with time to observe it, not to rely on a fixed drinking-window claim.

About the Winery
Chris Ringland worked on Three Rivers as an after-hours project before building a vineyard-led Shiraz from the Barossa Ranges. He acquired the Stone Chimney Creek site and restored its old vines. The wine later took his own name, making the Three Rivers label an earlier chapter of the same project. Its age makes provenance particularly important.
