Talisker was built at Carbost on Skye in 1830 and its smoke has always read differently from Islay's: sea spray and black pepper rather than iodine. Diageo bottles a Special Releases set once a year, each expression a single run that is not repeated, and the 8 Year slot is where Talisker is shown young and at full strength instead of softened by decades in wood. This is the 2021 edition, at 59.7%.
