Category: Champagne

Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2008 is one of the house's flagship prestige cuvées, made entirely from Chardonnay and prized for its tension and longevity. The 2008 vintage is especially attractive for buyers who want precision, freshness and ageing potential.

From the Producer

Maison Taittinger traces its roots to 1734 and has been led by the Taittinger family since Pierre Taittinger bought Château de la Marquetterie in 1932; it remains one of the few family-owned, independent Champagne houses, guided today by president Vitalie Taittinger. Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs is the house's flagship prestige cuvée, made exclusively from Chardonnay grown in Grand Cru vineyards of the Côte des Blancs and produced only in the strongest vintage years, then aged for years on lees in the house's chalk cellars — the medieval crayeres beneath the former Abbey of Saint-Nicaise in Reims.

Tasting Profile

  • Nose: Citrus oil, white flowers, brioche, chalk and blanched almond.
  • Palate: Focused and elegant, with fine mousse, bright lemony fruit, mineral drive and refined autolytic richness.
  • Finish: Long and chalky, with saline tension and persistent citrus freshness.

Best For

Best for prestige Champagne collectors, seafood-focused fine dining and gifting where Blanc de Blancs pedigree matters.
