Maison Taittinger traces its roots to 1734 and has been run by the Taittinger family since Pierre Taittinger bought Château de la Marquetterie in 1932; the house remains independent and family-led today under president Vitalie Taittinger. Its cuvées are aged in the medieval chalk cellars of the former Abbey of Saint-Nicaise in Reims, and the Taittinger Collection pairs a vintage Champagne with a limited-edition bottle designed by a contemporary artist — in this case Japanese artist Kan Imai — continuing a series the house began in the 1980s.
