Springbank Adelphi 32 Year 1964 is a rare independent bottling of mature Campbeltown single malt. Bottled by Adelphi after long maturation, it carries strong appeal for vintage Springbank collectors
From the Producer
Springbank has been in the Mitchell family since 1828 and still floor-malts all of its own barley in Campbeltown - the only Scottish distillery that carries out every step, malting to bottling, on one site. A 1964 distillate predates the distillery's long silent period between 1979 and 1987, so it is spirit from a working era that no longer exists. Adelphi, the bottler, is a revived Glasgow name that selects single casks and bottles them without chill filtration.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Old sherry, waxed citrus, leather, dried fruit, coastal malt and polished oak.
- Palate: Rich and mature, with fruit cake, mineral Campbeltown character, spice, oak and gentle smoke.
- Finish: Long and complex, with lingering dried fruit, wax, salt and old oak.
