About This Whisky
A Springbank Society bottling distilled in June 2012 and bottled on 4 January 2021 at eight years old.
Spirit distilled in June 2012 was filled into fresh oloroso sherry hogsheads, casks holding whisky for the first time after their sherry seasoning.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Big sherry: stewed plums and stone fruit, cinnamon and clove, charred wood, leather and pipe tobacco.
- Palate: Full-bodied and youthful, with cask-driven dark fruit, baking spice, black pepper and a firm tannic grip.
- Finish: Medium to long, with stewed fruit, spice and a wisp of tobacco.
Serving & Food
Young and forceful, it needs water. Robust food works best: braised oxtail, lap cheong fried rice, or a hunk of aged Manchego.

About the Distillery
Springbank was licensed in Campbeltown in 1828 and has belonged to the Mitchell family since 1837. Its members' club, the Springbank Society, offers bottlings not sold through the usual trade.
