From the Producer

Springbank is made by J. & A. Mitchell & Co. in Campbeltown under a licence the family has held since 1828. Production is unusually self-contained: the barley is floor-malted at the distillery, the spirit is distilled two and a half times across one wash still and two spirit stills, and the whisky is matured and bottled on the same site. The wash still is fired by direct flame as well as steam, and runs to a worm tub condenser rather than a modern shell-and-tube unit, which the distillery links to the heavier, oilier house character. The 15 Year is the older age-stated bottling in the core range, matured in sherry casks and bottled at 46% ABV without chill-filtration or added colour. This is the 2021 release.
