About This Whisky
All six decade bottles hold the same single malt, made by Master Whisky Maker Kirsteen Campbell and bottled at 43.7% ABV as a tribute to Bond's 007 code. There is no age statement, and the colour is natural. What sets Decade VI apart is its carton, which turns to the Daniel Craig years and draws on the archive of Skyfall (2012) and SPECTRE (2015).
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Lemon and lime zest with a dusting of sherbet, then vanilla, coconut and a little dried fig and raisin.
- Palate: Orange zest and fizzy sherbet, gentle oak and ginger, moving into dark chocolate, figs and baked apple tart with honey.
- Finish: Sweet and long, with layers that keep unfolding.

About the Distillery
The Macallan's stillhouse has always been known for its small stills, and the company has used the phrase "curiously small stills" for decades. They are made by the Scottish coppersmiths Forsyths, who have built Macallan's stills since the 1950s. The distillery that opened on the estate in 2018 runs 36 of them, 12 wash stills and 24 spirit stills. Their squat shape gives the vapour plenty of contact with copper and yields a rich, oily new make that stands up to long years in sherry-seasoned oak.
