The Macallan Sherry Oak 18 Years Old, 2025 Release, a limited annual bottling matured for at least 18 years on The Macallan Estate in predominantly sherry seasoned European oak casks from Jerez. It is bottled at 43% ABV with entirely natural colour.
About This Whisky
The Macallan describes the 18 as the epitome of its whisky making, with notes of ginger, dates and dark chocolate, and headlines the 2025 edition as dried fruits, ginger and oak spice. The pack is designed by David Carson: a collage of sherry-red hues and bottle images in which the repeated number 18 stands for sleeping casks, with a white patch as a nod to American oak. Each label also carries the Easter Elchies House logo.
Tasting Profile
- Nose: Dried fruits and ginger, with dates and warm oak.
- Palate: Rich and rounded, with dark chocolate, dates and oak spice.
- Finish: Gingery and drying, with dried fruit holding on.
Serving & Food
Serve at about 18°C in a Glencairn. A drop of water will soften the oak spice if you prefer it gentler. It suits a plate of Medjool dates stuffed with walnuts.
