Krug Rosé Edition 29 is Krug's prestige multi-vintage rosé composed around the 2017 harvest — a blend of 29 wines from five vintages, presented in salmon-pink livery.
From the Producer
Krug was founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug. Krug Rosé was first created in 1976 by Henri and Rémi Krug — a rosé that combines Krug's multi-vintage white blend with traditionally macerated Pinot Noir red wine from Krug's own parcels in Aÿ. Each Krug Rosé is aged on the lees for at least six years, giving the wine its signature texture. Krug Rosé 29ème Édition was composed around the 2017 harvest — a year that was particularly challenging for red wine — and is a blend of 29 wines from five vintages back to 2010, with 33% reserve wines in the final blend. The final composition is 53% Pinot Noir (which includes 11% blended-in red Pinot Noir), 28% Chardonnay and 19% Meunier. The wine was aged for around six years on the lees, bottled with a dosage of 4.5 g/L.
Tasting Notes
Nose — Bright salmon-orange colour; toasted brioche, fresh nectarine, white strawberries, cardamom and a saline edge.
Palate — Rich yet savoury, with strawberry, raspberry, cherry and pink grapefruit, plus delicate pastry notes and a refreshing floral lift.
Finish — Long, fine and gently autolytic, with bakery aromas carried by the mousse.
Best For
Best for fine-wine collectors, restaurant cellars and gifting on commemorative occasions. Pairs naturally with shellfish, seafood, aged cheeses or aperitif service.
